The Night Scenery of the Overlook Resort Thanks for a wonderful early Company Christmas Party we have at The Overlook Resort and Conference Center, Antipolo. I treasured the memory celebrating our overnight Team Building and a Christmas Party in a pools with overlooking decks and patios, small to large functions rooms/halls, landscaped garden and spacious parking lot. Overlook Resort and Conference Center is located near the historic Hinulugang Taktak and Our Lady of Good Voyage Antipolo Cathedral at Overlook Drive, Taktak Road, Morosi, Sta. Cruz, Antipolo City, Rizal, Philippines. See Map. What made more memorable to me was just after our company party, we return back in the resort with my father, the happiness is so precious. I just hoped that my mother was also here. Well, without too much ado, I'd like to share with you some night photos on the evening the we're here at the resort. Actually, what I know is that - it's over 2 decades that Overlook Resort has been serving diverse clients, from individual, groups and to multinational companies. I used to visit Overlook resort even at that time that I was still working in the Philippines. One that attracts me most is the panoramic view of the city. The silence in the resort refreshes me while seeing the night view or day view of Metro Manila (Ortigas in particular). So plenty rooms, functions rooms, etc.. to choose. I believed it can accommodate more than 200 guests. If I have a choice, I want to be here all the time. I am always relax here. Actually, I have lived in one room (near the Conference / Dance Hall) in this resort for almost a month way back year 2003, I believed. Huh! Another that I couldn't forgot here was that I was forced to dance in the dance hall at the function hall. I have two left feet so I couldn't go along with the music. Too bad for me! :( Well, to all my friends out there, if you happened to be in Manila and want to get away the noise of the City, have a party or team building, yet not that far from the Manila, visit Overlook Resort and Conference Center. I have checked their website and there so much best offers that they can give you - promos and packages that you can save so much. It's cool to Reserve Now! :) The Night Scenery of the Overlook Resort Thanks for a wonderful early Company Christmas Party we have at The Overlook Resort and Conference Center , Antipolo . Roaming Around Baguio City Baguio is widely known as the “The City Of Pines" or "The Summer Capital of the Philippines". This city has the coolest temperature in any island / places in the Philippines because it is mountainous being located at the roof of Cordillera Region (Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga and Mountain Province). A pine scented mountains of Benguet signifies a diverse culture of the Filipino with majority of its population are the Igorots. The widely spoken languages are Kankana-ey; Ibaloi; Kalanguya; Bontoc; Ilocano; and Pangasinan. Of course, it's secondary language is Tagalog and English. We travel to Baguio by Car, wherein from Manila, we have to pass through NLEX (North Luzon Express Way) then SCTEX (Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway) until reaching the McArthur Highway. Actually, we used the WAZE Apps, our accurate travel map, it shows us where are the fastest routes where there are no traffics. It took us 4-5 hours travel. Well, there are many transportation methods that you can choose going to Baguio such as; From Manila, Go by Bus. Just go to respective termination station of Philippine Rabbit (Avenida, Manila), Victory Liner (Pasay City & Cubao-Quezon City), Partas (Pasay City & Cubao-Quezon City) and Genesis Liner (Pasay City & Cubao-Quezon City). You may perhaps reach Baguio arount 6-7 hours depending on the traffic. For Airports; From Clark airport, just take a cab going to Dau Terminal wherein all buses coming from Manila stops in this terminal while if from NAIA airport (Ninoy Aquino International Airport), just tell the cab driver to take you to those terminal stations mentioned above. Broad Day Light Scenery Broad Day Light Scenery Night Time Scenery Night Time Scenery The mode of transportation in the city is amazing cheaper than Manila. We left our car in the hotel due to inconvenience in finding parking space. So, we either go by Taxi or Jeepney. Taxi fare is very cheap maybe because they save on gas for not using air-conditions anymore. While fare on jeepneys are cheaper and also almost jeepneys pass through any tourist destinations already. As we roam around, we found so many place where we can eat, every kind or style of restaurant is available and possible. I think, Baguio City is a paradise for food-lovers as well. I enjoyed Chinese dishes and eating fresh veggies, so affordable! Since Baguio City is the most visited tourist spots in Luzon, you can do a lot of activities such as... going to native villages and pine-laden parks. You can do biking, boat-paddling, horse-riding, hikings, strawberry pickings, viting art museums and haunted houses and finally shopping pasalubong. However, in our case we have only visited few places due to limited time. :( BURNHAM PARK & its ORCHIDARIUM Burnham Park is one of the most famous park in the Philippines located at Jose Abad Santos Dr, Baguio, 2600 Benguet, Philippines THE LION’S HEAD As we are entering to the city, we've pass through "The Lion's Head" which is a big statue of a head of a lion located along Kennon Road in Camp 6. This Lion's Head measures 40 ft (12 m) in height. LOURDES GROTTO The Lourdes Grotto is a Catholic shrine or Pilgrimage site and place of prayer and meditation. It is located in a hillside on Mirador Hill, western part of Baguio. Inside the grotto is a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes. According to the residence, this grotto is particularly crowded on Sundays and during Holy Week because many pilgrims and devotees come to seek the blessing of the Virgin Mary. THE IGOROT GARDEN While roaming and searching for food, we came crossed to busy road of Burnham Park and we've seen the "Igorot Garden", it's the popular garden within Baguio's Metropolis. We were fascinated and puzzled with the monument, a sculptures of a fearless Igorot fighters or heroes defending their native lands. THE FINALE, BUYING OF PASALUBONG (Souvenirs) Huh! It's our time to go back Manila, we missed many spots such as La Trinidad Area (Chinese Bell Church, Strawberry Farm and Flower Farm), Tam-Awan Village, PMA (Camp John Hay and Panagbenga Park), Good Shepherd, Mines View Park, Wright Park, Botanical Garden, The Mansion, Teacher’s camp, Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary, Bencab Museum and Asin Hotspring, Mt.
