Crocodile Farm

The "Crocodile Farm and Nature Park" is now known as Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center, where it houses, if not hundreds, it would be thousands of crocs, from newly hatched to scary behemoths. Likewise, it has a densely forested mini-zoo that features other Palawan's endemic animals, such as mammals, reptiles, and birds taken out from neglected aviaries and cages.

The new name, Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center, connotes that its purpose is to preserve and conduct further research studies on endangered species of animals such as crocodiles, birds, etc. By the way, this place is supervised and managed by DENR(Department of Environment and Natural Resources)-PAWB (Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau).

At the entrance/exhibit area, you will see a display of enormous crocodile skeletons. As you move on, you'll be walking in a room of newly born baby crocodiles while the older crocodiles that are below five feet in length are cared for right behind the building, and the other adult crocodiles that are more than five feet in length are cared for outside in an open pond. Above this open pond is a bridge where you can take photographs or you'll have better views of these crocs, and they told us that we can feed them from the bridge. However, we did not have a chance to feed them when we were here.

Don't forget that at the end of your tour, you can take a picture with a baby crocodile and a huge lengthy snake.  Or drop by a restaurant to have a great meal served with Crocodile Sisig, a product of Coral Agriventure Farms (Producer of naturally grown Crocodile). Get all its claimed health benefits, including Good for Asthma, Low Fat Cholesterol, Good for the heart, and Aphrodisiac(?). And finally, you can always buy a souvenir, where some of the products are made from crocodile skin, at the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center (PWRC) shop.
